In 1987 during one of the lowest points of her life, while she was homeless and seemingly alone, she prayed to God in anger and He answered her clearly and in a manner  which changed her life.  He revealed to her that all of the pain she had experienced, and would experience would be used to encourage others and to ultimately bring glory to Him.  Paralleled to His inquisition of Job, He reminded her of how His grace and mercy was sustaining her even when she thought He had forsaken her.  From that point on her life was not perfect, but her perspective had changed.

Through the pain of her experiences of being homeless, a single mother, jobless, a failed business, delayed education and  sometimes physically alone, her faith began to grow by leaps in bounds.  She knows that it was only God that kept her mind when chaos was attempting to consume her.

Rev. CC has no problem sharing her testimony because she recognizes that one of Satan’s most powerful tools is isolation.  She knows that if she can assist people from moving from their point of pain to recognizing their potential, understanding that they are not alone and how much God loves them, then they are closer to their deliverance than they may think! Her experiences have toughened her and made her intolerant to Satan and  his tricks.  She has a passion for God’s people and wants for them the best that this life has to offer.

Rev. CC thanks God everyday for two children Aaron, 20 who proudly services in the US Army and is stationed in Seattle, Washington; and Melanie, 17 who is a Freshmen at Virginia Commonwealth University majoring in Psychology, whom walked patiently with her through some of life’s darkest moments. She is so proud of them because although she may not have always been the worlds greatest mom, according to her, they are the worlds greatest children.  When God blessed  their lives with Rev. Micah, it was an unexpected blessing that changed all of their lives!  Truly the blending of her family on their wedding day was the greatest gift she could have ever received.

Rev. CC was licensed to preach the gospel in 1998 by the St. Paul's Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia under the dynamic leadership of the Rev. Lance D. Watson.  At St. Paul's she was blessed to serve in many capacities within the Youth Ministry and Shepherd's Staff.  In  2002, she was ordained by the 5th Street Baptist Church under the incomparable leadership of the Rev. F. Todd Gray.  At 5th St., serving beside her husband, she worked diligently as a leader of  the Seasoned Saints and Young Adult Ministries.  In addition, she has served as a Youth Minister in both rural and inner city churches.  Rev. CC holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University.  She is currently a student at the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University where she is securing her Masters degree in Divinity while simultaneously securing a Masters in Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Although Rev. CC's office of Evangelist often calls upon her to travel, as the First Lady of Seventh Street, she honors her commitment to her home knowing that a wise woman builds up her home!  She currently serves as the Minister of Discipleship and Minister of Outreach and Evangelism, under which the Women's ministry falls.  Through her, several ministries have been birthed including the web ministry, Ambassadors of Joy, computer ministry and various outreach and evangelism tools.

One thing that is evident to anyone who is around her for more than a minute is that when a baby is near, her attention is taken! Rev. CC LOVES babies, and as a big kid at heart, she loves Mickey Mouse, Elmo, Spongebob Squarepants, the Incredibles and her newest love, Mumbo from the movie Happy Feet.  One of her families most fun and embarrassing moments was watching her take pictures with all of the Disney characters.
